The battleground map
Skip to the race listEach square is one state, all the same size so the small ones are easy to tap. The color and the pattern both show how close the race is. Tap a state to see who is running. We follow 14 Senate, 14 governor and 50 House races.
Tap or click a state. Or use Tab then the arrow keys and Enter.
What the colors and patterns mean
Click or tap a rating to show only those races.
Light gray squares have no key race this year. When you pick one rating, the other states turn gray until you press Show all races. A state with several House races takes the color of its closest one.
