Video: Hans von Spakovsky Says Federal Courts Are 'Obstructing' Efforts to Verify Voter Citizenship

Fox News posted a clip of Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at Advancing American Freedom, saying federal courts are "obstructing" secure elections.

What Fox says. The clip is dated Oct. 25 and runs 19 minutes 20 seconds, according to the listing. Fox's description says von Spakovsky discusses efforts to verify the U.S. citizenship of registered voters and Democrats' opposition to those measures on "Life, Liberty & Levin."

Context. The clip comes as the Justice Department is in court in California over about 20,000 mail ballots it ties to suspected noncitizens. A Ninth Circuit panel heard that emergency request Sunday and questioned both sides. Fox's separate video listing said a judge restricted a DHS investigation into noncitizen voting. The description of this clip does not say whether von Spakovsky was speaking about either case.

What is missing. The listing has no quotes beyond the headline, no rulings named and no response from the courts or Democrats he criticizes.

Note for readers: the title, a short description and the runtime are all we have from Fox. "Obstructing" is the headline's wording and von Spakovsky's view, not a finding. We did not watch the video. We covered his earlier column on the Ninth Circuit.
