Video: Speaker Johnson Calls Midterm Polls 'Wrong' as Republicans Make a Final Push on 'Fox News Sunday'
A Fox News video clip of the House Speaker discussing the Republican midterm strategy and the Trump administration's Russia policy. We relied on Fox's description, not the footage.
Fox News posted a clip from "Fox News Sunday" in which House Speaker Mike Johnson says the midterm polls are wrong while Republicans make a final push before Election Day.
What Fox says. The video is dated Oct. 25. The description says Johnson discusses the Republican Party's midterm strategy, the Trump administration's policy on Russia "and more." The title is "Speaker Johnson calls midterm polls 'wrong' as Republicans make final push ahead of Election Day."
What is missing. The description includes no direct quotes beyond the single word in the title, no polling figures, and no detail on what he said about Russia. We do not know which polls he means or what evidence he offered.
Why it matters. The election is Nov. 3, and Johnson's own future as Speaker depends on whether Republicans keep the House. Fox reported earlier today on his third anniversary in the job.
Note for readers: a title and one sentence are all we have. We did not watch the video and cannot confirm what he said.
