Video: Sen. Ashley Moody Calls Angie Nixon's Call to Jail Her a 'Communist Ploy'
The Florida Republican reacts on 'Fox & Friends First' to Bernie Sanders campaigning for her progressive challenger and warns voters about democratic socialism.
Sen. Ashley Moody, R-Fla., is firing back at her Democratic challenger.
This post summarizes a clip that runs 5 minutes 38 seconds. We relied on Fox News's published title and description, not a transcript, so we are limited to what the network says about it.
According to Fox, Moody appeared on "Fox & Friends First" to react to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., campaigning for progressive Angie Nixon ahead of the midterm elections. Fox says Moody used the segment to warn voters about what it calls the consequences of democratic socialism. The title says Moody blasts Nixon's call to jail her as a "communist ploy." The description does not say when or how Nixon made that call, or in what context, and we did not find her words in the material we read. We are not putting words in Nixon's mouth.
Two limits. This is one candidate's view in a friendly television interview, not a finding of fact. And the listing does not include a response from Nixon or Sanders.
