Actress Mckenna Grace Says She Does Not Do Nudity or 'Hypersexual' Roles, and Fox Notes Angel Studios' New Content Pledge
Fox News reports the 20-year-old 'Scream 7' and 'Hunger Games' prequel star told Cosmopolitan the roles are personal boundaries, then clarified on Instagram that her Disney princess dream is a separate point.
Actress Mckenna Grace, 20, says she does not do nudity or "very hypersexual things" on screen, Fox News reports.
What she said. Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Grace said: "At this point, I definitely don't do nudity or very hypersexual things. I respect anybody who can, but it's terrifying to me. I don't know if that'll ever change." She said her dream is one day to play a Disney princess, and noted she does not limit herself to wholesome parts: "my character literally gets gutted by Ghostface in 'Scream.'"
The clarification. On Instagram Tuesday, Grace said the two quotes now being used in headlines "are unrelated." She wrote that she is not avoiding nude scenes "simply because 'I want to be a Disney princess,'" but because of her own comfort level "at this point in my life."
Her credits. Fox lists the "Ghostbusters" films, "Scream 7" and Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale," which earned her an Emmy nomination, and says she is set to appear in the "Hunger Games" prequel "Sunrise on the Reaping."
Others who drew lines. Fox points to Amy Adams, who said she turned down a graphic "Saturday Night Live" sketch because of young "Enchanted" fans, and to Neal McDonough, who has cited his Catholic faith in refusing sex scenes. It also mentions Penn Badgley, who asked in 2023 for fewer intimate scenes, citing his marriage.
The studio angle. Fox says Angel Studios announced "The Angel Promise," content standards that the Utah-based studio says will bar on-screen sex, nudity and gratuitous profanity in its original releases. Co-founder Jeff Harmon told Fox Hollywood "lives in a bubble" and has "drifted more and more away from the values-based audience that they used to serve." Critic Christian Toto told Fox her "instincts here are solid."
