Editorial Policy
The rules we follow on credit, accuracy, quotes, corrections and opinion.
RightNewsRightNow.com aggregates and rewrites news from around the web, with credit. This page explains the rules we follow.
1. We credit every source
Every article carries a "Source" line with the name of the outlet whose reporting we relied on and a direct link to the original. If we draw on more than one outlet, we name each. We never present another outlet's reporting as our own.
2. We write in our own words
We summarize and rewrite. We do not copy articles, paste another outlet's paragraphs, or republish its photos or video without permission. Short quotations from public figures, officials and court documents appear in quotation marks and are attributed to the person who said them.
3. We only state what the source supports
We do not add facts, numbers, quotes or events that the source does not contain. Claims are attributed ("according to Fox News," "the Justice Department says") so readers can see who is asserting what. Allegations are described as allegations. Charges are not convictions. Where a source relies on anonymous officials, we say so.
4. Opinion is labeled
Commentary and columns are marked Opinion. When we summarize a columnist's argument, we state that the views belong to the author. Our own editorial comments are confined to the closing lines of an article and are written to be clearly distinguishable from the reporting above them.
5. We note what we have not verified
We have no reporters on the ground, so we rely on the outlets we credit. When a figure is a government claim, a poll, or a one-sided account, we say that. When we have only read a headline, a video description or part of a piece, we say that too.
6. Fairness and legal care
Our voice is conservative, but we do not defame. We do not publish unsupported accusations about named individuals. Responses from people criticized in a story are included when the source provides them, and we note when it does not.
7. Corrections
If an article contains an error, we correct it, mark the change and keep the corrected version live. Send corrections through the Contact page.
8. Takedown requests
If you are the original publisher and want a link, credit or summary changed or removed, contact us through the Contact page and we will respond promptly.
