The warning followed a Russian strike on a school used for aid distribution in Zaporizhzhia that killed at least 26, per Ukrainian media. Kyiv also says Moscow used the Oleshky humanitarian pause to improve its positions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that Russia is preparing a "new massive attack" aimed at energy and logistics and timed for the U.S. midterms, Fox News reports.

The warning. "We have intel that Russia is preparing a new massive attack on our country," Zelenskyy said in his nightly address. He said Moscow assumes "tomorrow the world will be watching the American midterms" and will overlook Ukraine's difficulties with air defense and Patriot missiles. The intelligence is Kyiv's claim, and Fox's report does not show it.

The strike behind it. Hours earlier, Russian forces hit a school used to hand out humanitarian aid in Komyshuvakha, in Zaporizhzhia region. Fox, citing Ukrainska Pravda, says at least 26 people died, including police officers and first responders, five were hurt and others were missing.

The ask. In a post on X, Zelenskyy urged the U.S. and its allies to make clear that continued attacks will cost Russia economically. "We must not play games with Russia's oil or gas revenues," he wrote. "America can do this."

Patriots and diplomacy. Zelenskyy told Fox on Sunday that Ukraine would suspend strikes on Russian oil refineries for a month if Washington supplied Patriot interceptors in that time. Fox, citing Reuters, says the State Department approved the possible sale of 500 Patriot PAC-3 missiles to Ukraine for about $2.1 billion, with no clear delivery date. President Trump has pursued a deal through envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Oleshky. Ukraine's General Staff said Monday that Russia used the U.S.-backed humanitarian pause in Oleshky, in the Kherson region, to rotate troops, strengthen defenses and improve logistics, while Ukrainian forces kept to the agreement. About 800 people were evacuated during the six-day pause, per first lady Melania Trump, whom the White House says helped broker it. We covered the ceasefire earlier. Russia's response is not in Fox's report.
