Video: Fox's Brian Kilmeade Says He Has 'No Idea Why You Would Give In to Democrats' on Ending Israel Aid, but Notes Netanyahu Saw It Coming
A Breitbart clip post from Tuesday's Fox simulcast. We relied on Breitbart's written account of the remarks, not the video itself.
Breitbart posted a clip of Fox News host Brian Kilmeade reacting to President Trump's announcement that the U.S. will stop $4 billion in yearly aid to Israel.
What he said. On Tuesday's simulcast of "Varney & Co." and "The Brian Kilmeade Show," Kilmeade said: "I have no idea why you would give in to Democrats who want to cut off aid to Israel, our number one allies in the region."
His reasoning. According to Breitbart's account, he noted Israel's economy has grown strongly while fighting the war, and that Israel is "a miracle story." He said that if Netanyahu says Israel does not need the $4 billion and would rather buy American weapons, that is one thing.
The Netanyahu angle. Kilmeade recalled that Netanyahu said about a year ago that if Democrats take power, "Israel's going to be on their own." He said Netanyahu therefore knew this was coming, though "it really caught me by surprise." He also wondered aloud whether Netanyahu will remain prime minister.
Related. Our earlier report covered Trump's Election Day statement that U.S. aid to Israel ends at year's end.
What we could not check. This post summarizes Breitbart's written account of a video. We did not watch the segment, so we cannot vouch for tone, context or anything left out.
