Video: Justice Department Fraud Chief Colin McDonald Discusses Trump Administration Whistleblower Program Offering Cash Rewards
Fox posted a clip from 'Saturday in America' with the head of the National Fraud Enforcement Division. We relied on Fox's one-line description, not the footage.
Fox News has posted a clip titled "Trump administration unveils whistleblower program offering cash rewards to fight fraud." The page is dated Oct. 24 and comes from "Saturday in America."
This post summarizes a Fox News video. We relied on Fox's title and description, not on watching or hearing the footage, so we cannot tell you what was said beyond that description.
What Fox says. According to the description, Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald, who leads the Justice Department's National Fraud Enforcement Division, joined the program to discuss the Trump administration's whistleblower program targeting fraud and corruption. The title says the program offers cash rewards.
What is missing. The description does not say how large the rewards are, who can apply, which kinds of fraud are covered or when the program starts. It also gives no response from critics or from groups that represent whistleblowers.
Note for readers: a title and one sentence are all we have, so treat the reward detail as Fox's headline, not a confirmed program rule.
