The Biddeford, Maine, office of Sen. Susan Collins, a Republican, was vandalized Monday night, the second time in a month, Fox News reports.

What happened. According to Fox, vandals dumped a bucket of red paint in front of the office and wrote "BLOOD on her HANDS" in red on the sidewalk outside.

Her office's response. "This is another incident in a series and the second attempt at our Biddeford office to intimidate the Senator and her staff. These tactics are disturbing, but not effective. Our staff is undeterred and on the job," Collins' chief of staff, Katie Brown, told Fox News.

The earlier attacks. In September, vandals spray-painted a slur on the building's door, Fox says. The office sits near the scene of a July shooting in which a law enforcement officer shot and killed 26-year-old Colombian national Johan Sebastian Guerrero in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation. Days after the shooting, Fox reports, protesters barged into the front door chanting "vote her out."

The race. Collins faces former Democratic state Sen. Troy Jackson on Tuesday. Fox says Jackson condemned the September vandalism, saying Collins and her staff "should be able to do their jobs without anyone defacing their office."

The investigation. Fox cites Collins' campaign in saying Biddeford police are investigating.

What we could not check. We did not see the scene or the police report. Fox's story does not name a suspect or say who is responsible, and says neither campaign had responded to its request for comment on the Monday incident. Jackson's quoted condemnation referred to the September incident; whether he has addressed the new one was not reported.
