# Republican Calls $500,000 From Reid Hoffman to a Pro-Dembo Super PAC 'Dirty Epstein Class Money'

Ralph Alvarado says Democrat Zach Dembo, who campaigns against big-donor influence, should disavow the gift to an independent group backing him in Kentucky's 6th District. Records do not show Dembo asked for it.

A Kentucky House race has picked up an Epstein-era attack line.

According to Federal Election Commission records cited by Fox News, billionaire Reid Hoffman gave $500,000 on Sept. 24 to Kentuckians Not Corruption, an independent super PAC supporting Democratic nominee Zach Dembo in Kentucky's 6th District. Dembo, a former federal prosecutor and Navy veteran, faces former state Sen. Ralph Alvarado for the Lexington-area seat now held by Rep. Andy Barr, who is running for the Senate to succeed the retiring Mitch McConnell.

The attack. Alvarado told Fox News Digital: "This is really, it's dirty Epstein class money fueling Zach Dembo's campaign. It's offensive." He said Dembo "will not disavow it" and called the situation hypocrisy, since Dembo's website says "big business and the ultra-wealthy shouldn't be able to buy influence in Washington" and calls for getting "rid of dark money in politics." Alvarado also made claims about Hoffman's past with Jeffrey Epstein, including that Hoffman visited Epstein's island and sent him ice cream with a note, citing Justice Department documents. Those are Alvarado's statements. The article does not independently verify them, and neither have we.

The ad spending. FCC advertising records show the super PAC's weekly TV orders on Lexington's WLEX rose from $14,650 for Sept. 15 to 21, before the gift, to $109,990 for Oct. 6 to 12, more than seven times higher. Kentucky Public Radio reported the group had spent about $1.6 million on the race by mid-October.

What the records do not show. Fox states plainly that the money went to an independent super PAC, not to Dembo's campaign, and that federal records do not establish Dembo solicited or directed it. Fox says it contacted Dembo's team repeatedly and received no response. The report does not say whether Hoffman has commented, and it does not allege Hoffman broke any law.
