# Opinion: Laura Ingraham Says the Trump Agenda Deserves to Continue After the Midterms, Citing Income, Growth and Border Numbers

In a Fox News column, the host argues the 'end of Trumpism' claims are wrong and that the president's record, not one midterm, should decide whether his policies go on. The views are hers.

This is a summary of an opinion column on Fox News by Laura Ingraham. The views are hers, not RightNewsRightNow's.

Her argument. Ingraham writes that critics who declared "the end of Trumpism" after the midterms said the same after both impeachments, the 2020 election, Jan. 6 and every indictment. She says Trump's record "should not be judged on midterm results but on what it has delivered."

The economy. She cites real median household income rising from $77,230 in 2016 to a record $87,460 last year, in 2025 dollars. She writes that core inflation fell from 6.6 percent in September 2022 to 2.6 percent this September, with headline inflation at 3.7 percent, near the eurozone's 3.8 percent. She says the economy grew at a 3.4 percent annual rate in the third quarter and that the IMF projects U.S. GDP per capita of $95,212 in 2026, far above Germany, Britain and Canada. She also cites The Washington Post for a 255,000-person drop in the federal workforce from December 2024 to June 2026.

Abroad and at home. She argues his tariffs shielded the auto industry from Chinese competition, that his moves on Panama and Greenland denied Beijing footholds, and that Iran's military is "severely degraded." Citing The Wall Street Journal, she says Persian Gulf oil exports now exceed prewar levels and Hormuz has not been closed. On social issues she points to the end of Roe and a conservative Supreme Court majority, and she says the border is closed to illegal immigration.

The warning. She says Democrats' campaign "rests on a single promise: to go after Trump and everyone who has worked with him." She concedes voters, including herself, are frustrated with the Iran conflict and want lower gas prices. She closes by saying the right should keep fighting, as Reagan's party did after losing eight Senate seats in 1986.

Related. Our earlier report covered Doug Schoen's column on the midterm results, which reads them differently.

What we could not check. The column's figures come from the sources she names, and we have not checked them. It does not address polling on why voters turned against Republicans.
