# Melania Trump Will Host Russian and Ukrainian Representatives at the White House Thursday After the Oleshky Ceasefire, Breitbart Reports

First Lady Melania Trump will host representatives from Ukraine and Russia at the White House on Thursday, Breitbart reports, after she brokered a ceasefire in Oleshky.

The event. According to Breitbart, the first lady's office announced the summit in a press release, calling it "an extraordinary moment in American history." She is set to deliver remarks about the ceasefire at 11:00 a.m. Thursday.

The ceasefire. Breitbart says it expired as scheduled on Sunday. The pause allowed nearly 800 evacuations and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region, with no violations reported between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1. A Ukrainian lawmaker, quoted by AFP, called it the "biggest de-escalation since 2022."

What she said. In a statement Sunday night, Mrs. Trump said, "On behalf of America, I commend Russia and Ukraine for their leadership and cooperation surrounding the Oleshky ceasefire. I hope Oleshky serves as a foundation for lasting peace between both nations." Marc Beckman, her senior adviser, told Breitbart the result "represents a meaningful step toward lasting peace in this war-torn region." Breitbart says it first reported the ceasefire on Oct. 23.

The earlier work. Breitbart says that since October 2025 the first lady has helped arrange six rounds of family reunifications for children displaced by the war, with 34 children returning to their families. The rounds took place in October, December, February, April, July and August.

What we could not check. Breitbart does not say which Russian or Ukrainian officials will attend or what will be discussed beyond the first lady's remarks. The ceasefire figures and the reunification count come from the first lady's office and her adviser through Breitbart. We have not seen the press release.
