Nine Days Out, Fox Maps Where Trump, Vance, Obama and Harris Are Campaigning, From Ohio and Texas to Michigan and Nevada
Both parties are sending their biggest names into competitive Senate states. Fox's map tracks October stops, not a ranking of battlegrounds, and says Cook polling has Democrats narrowly ahead in Ohio, Texas and Iowa.
With nine days until Election Day, both parties are putting their best-known figures on the road, Fox News reports. The goal on each side is control of Congress.
Who is going where. Fox says President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are rallying Republicans across the country, while former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Kamala Harris campaign for Democrats. Trump's stops run from Texas and Oklahoma to Ohio, Georgia, Florida and Michigan. He said in early October he planned five to seven rallies a week. This weekend he was in Florida on Friday, Georgia on Saturday and Michigan on Sunday. Obama has campaigned in Ohio and Michigan. Harris's recent stops included Nevada, Mississippi and New Hampshire.
Safe states and swing states. Fox says the map mixes both. Oklahoma and Alabama are deep red, where a rally mainly energizes the base. Ohio, Texas and Iowa have competitive Senate contests, and Fox cites recent Cook Political Report polling that shows the Democratic candidates narrowly ahead in all three. Michigan, where Trump rallies for Mike Rogers today, is also a key Senate battleground. States both sides have visited are shaded gray.
What is at stake. The midterms decide control of the House and Senate for the last two years of Trump's term, Fox notes.
Note for readers: the map is an interactive graphic and we worked from Fox's text, not the graphic itself. Fox stresses that it tracks campaign travel and is not a formal ranking of battlegrounds. The Cook polling is as Fox describes it, and we did not check it against Cook. Stops are those Fox counted this month and may be incomplete.
