# DHS Names a Dozen-Plus Foreign Nationals ICE Arrested on Charges of Voting Illegally, Two in the 2026 Election

Breitbart relays a DHS list that runs from a 1992 vote to 2026. Secretary Markwayne Mullin says the arrests are part of the administration's crackdown on voting by noncitizens.

The Department of Homeland Security says Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested more than a dozen foreign nationals accused of voting in U.S. elections, Breitbart reports.

The claim. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said ICE "arrested dozens of non-citizens who illegally voted in American elections," and that some have criminal histories including assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence, drug trafficking, burglary and drunk driving. He added: "American elections are for Americans only."

The list. Breitbart prints the names DHS released. Juan Carlos Matute-Hernandez of Honduras is accused of voting in the 2026 election and has prior driving arrests. DHS says Darwin Yoel Zelaya-Orellana, also of Honduras, voted in 2026 and has a prior third-degree sex offense conviction. Most of the rest are accused of voting in 2024, with others in 2022 and 2020, and one, Phath Vorn of Cambodia, in 1992. Countries named include Mexico, Cuba, Somalia, Germany, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Venezuela and Guatemala. DHS lists convictions and charges for several, from cocaine sales and fraud to assault with intent to murder.

The context. DHS describes the arrests as part of President Trump's nationwide crackdown on election crimes by foreign nationals. Our earlier story on Washington state's dispute with the Justice Department notes that DHS told Fox News that at least 18 of those arrested nationwide had voted in a federal election.
