A New York benefit against antisemitism and other hatred raised more than $32 million in one night. Fox Business reports that Bank of America Chair and CEO Brian Moynihan received the first award at the event Wednesday.

The event. The Blue Square Alliance Against Hate held its inaugural benefit at the Waldorf Astoria. It was sold out, drew more than 800 people, and the group says it was the largest single-night total in its history. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft founded the organization in 2019. Moynihan received its Leadership in Action Award. Speakers included Tom Brady, Jon Bon Jovi, NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman and Cardinal Timothy Dolan. Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who sits on the advisory board, sent a video message about education and empathy.

What Moynihan said. "On behalf of my 209,000 teammates at Bank of America, I want to thank the Blue Square Alliance," he said, adding that the recognition "belongs to my teammates." He called it "an absolute privilege to receive the first award at the first-ever gala."

Where the money goes. The group says the funds will expand its technology and analytics operations, national media and advertising campaigns and other programs aimed at combating hate. It described the evening as a "fundraising success" and a call to action.

Note for readers: the $32 million total and attendance figures come from the organization, as relayed by Fox Business.
